Leading the Path Toward Teaching and Learning Through the Inclusion of Emerging AI Technologies
Wednesday October 21, 2026 2:15pm - 3:05pm EDT
This 50-minute, hands-on workshop immerses participants in a practice-based leadership preparation experience powered by emerging AI tools. Drawing on a leadership pipeline model aligned to PSEL, facilitators guide participants through a structured simulation of instructional supervision and feedback, a guided exploration of AI-driven data tools for decision-making, and a collaborative design activity focused on building or refining inclusive, multimodal preparation resources. The session culminates in the creation of a personalized Leadership Development Plan (LDP) that participants take home as a ready-to-use planning artifact. Throughout, facilitators model intergenerational dialogue — positioning participants as both learners and knowledge-holders, drawing on their varied career experiences to enrich the collective conversation about what effective, equitable leadership preparation looks like now and in the future.

MATERIALS PARTICIPANTS SHOULD BRING
Participants are encouraged to bring:
A laptop, tablet, or smartphone (required for AI tool exploration in Phase 3)
An example of a current instructional supervision or leadership development resource from their program or district (used during the resource critique activity in Phase 3)
A copy of or familiarity with the Professional Standards for Educational Leaders (PSEL) — a digital link will be provided at the session

Facilitators will provide:
Printed and digital copies of the Leadership Development Plan (LDP) template
Simulation scenario packets (printed, differentiated by school context)
QR code linking to the full digital resource library including AI tools, simulation frameworks, and reference list
Access to a shared digital annotation and documentation platform for group activities

The Educator's AI Toolkit: Practical Solutions for Real Classrooms
Wednesday October 21, 2026 3:15pm - 4:05pm EDT
This interactive workshop is designed to help educators move beyond the hype surrounding artificial intelligence and explore practical, classroom-focused applications that support teaching and learning. Participants will examine how AI tools such as ChatGPT, Brisk Teaching, MagicSchool AI, and NotebookLM can be used to enhance lesson planning, assessment, differentiation, accessibility, and student engagement while reducing time spent on routine tasks.Through demonstrations, guided exploration, and collaborative discussion, attendees will experience firsthand how AI can support diverse learners and create more inclusive, multimodal learning environments. The workshop also addresses important considerations related to academic integrity, bias, privacy, equity, and responsible implementation.Rather than positioning AI as a replacement for educator expertise, this session emphasizes how AI can serve as a professional tool that enhances instructional effectiveness and supports informed decision-making. Participants will leave with practical strategies, sample prompts, and classroom-ready resources that can be immediately implemented in teacher preparation programs, professional development settings, and PK–12 classrooms.

MATERIALS PARTICIPANTS SHOULD BRING
To maximize participation and hands-on learning, attendees should bring a laptop, Chromebook, or tablet with internet access. Participants are encouraged, but not required, to create free accounts for commonly used AI tools such as ChatGPT, Brisk Teaching, MagicSchool AI, and NotebookLM prior to the session. Access to at least one AI platform will enable participants to actively engage in guided exploration.Attendees are also encouraged to bring a lesson plan, assignment, assessment, syllabus, or instructional resource from their own teaching or teacher preparation context. These materials will be used during workshop activities to explore authentic applications of AI for lesson planning, differentiation, assessment design, accessibility supports, and student engagement. All workshop materials, sample prompts, resource guides, and implementation templates will be provided digitally by the presenter. No prior experience with artificial intelligence is required. The workshop is designed to support participants ranging from AI beginners to more experienced users seeking practical classroom applications.

Designing for Belonging: Retooling Online Courses Using a Humanizing Lens
Thursday October 22, 2026 11:45am - 12:35pm EDT
As teacher educators, the way we design our own courses sends a powerful message to our students, who are future teachers themselves, about what equitable, engaging, and caring instruction looks like in practice. At the same time, professional development works best when it feels less like a presentation and more like a conversation. This workshop seeks to honor both of these ideas by creating a collaborative, low-stakes environment where participants can take an honest look at their own online courses and explore humanizing strategies grounded in research. By the end of the session, participants will have retooled a course artifact ready to use in their online course. More importantly, they will leave thinking differently about what it means to design online learning experiences that are equitable, inclusive, and worthy of the diverse students they serve. The purpose of this workshop is to share common problems of practice and solutions developed to address such problems. The two main problems discussed are surface-level reflections in candidates’ work, and limited practice interacting with parents over difficult topics. After exploring candidates’ work before and after the use of an AI chatbot, participants will be coached to develop their own chatbot prompt to push their own candidates’ thinking or experiences in the college classroom.

MATERIALS PARTICIPANTS SHOULD BRING
A Wi-Fi enabled laptop or tablet.
A sample artifact from a current or future online course, such as a syllabus, a weekly module introduction, a major assignment description, or a discussion board prompt.
Access to their institution's Learning Management System (LMS), such as Canvas or Blackboard, if participants wish to build their redesigned elements directly into their course.

The Ripple Effect: Defining Quality Beyond the Classroom: Leadership, Teacher Support, and Early Childhood Practice
Thursday October 22, 2026 2:00pm - 2:50pm EDT
In this workshop, participants will take an honest look at the relational expectations (such as expectations of the Classroom Assessment Scoring System) placed on teachers as they engage with young children, and why those relationships matter so deeply in the early years. From there, they will explore how the way leaders show up for their staff directly shapes the quality of children's experiences in the classroom.

MATERIALS PARTICIPANTS SHOULD BRING
Participants will not need supplies other than pen and paper and their focused selves.
