Effective Online Course Design in the Age of AI
Wednesday October 21, 2026 10:00am - 10:25am EDT
Which course tools, design approaches, and instructional activities do students find most effective in online courses? The researchers sought to understand what discussion board designs and community-building strategies foster meaningful peer learning and what instructor approaches students find helpful in navigating AI integration constructively and ethically. Grounded in the Technology Acceptance Model and Community of Inquiry framework, findings will guide evidence-based recommendations for online course design and instructor pedagogy while thoughtfully integrating emerging technologies.

Preparing Teachers to Implement Data Driven Instruction using Single Case Design Methodologies
Wednesday October 21, 2026 1:40pm - 2:05pm EDT
Preparing early career teachers to implement evidence-based practices with rigor and fidelity can seem overwhelming. We will share a structured nine-step, data-based decision-making model that prepares teachers to implement, monitor and evaluate the impact of their interventions using single-case designs. We will highlight the feasibility and social validity of this work and how “practice” can inform “research”.
