This workshop combines research, practitioner inquiry, and interactive learning experiences to explore multimodal innovation in educator preparation. Participants will engage with scholarship related to multimodality, restorative pedagogy, and transformative learning before examining examples of multimodal instructional practices implemented within graduate educator preparation coursework.Interactive activities will include restorative dialogue, visual analysis, collaborative reflection, and multimodal lesson design. Participants will analyze classroom and educator preparation scenarios through justice-centered frameworks and consider how multimodal engagement supports deeper participation and critical reflection. The session emphasizes both theory and application, positioning participants to critically examine their own pedagogical approaches while developing a concrete multimodal instructional activity or assignment for implementation in their educational context.
